The Federal Senate approved the federal intervention decree on the public security of the Federal District (DF). The vast majority of senators voted in favor of the intervention, except for eight senators linked to former President Jair Bolsonaro, including his son Flávio Bolsonaro. The Justice of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), Alexandre de Moraes, ordered the arrest of the former Secretary of Public Security of the DF, Anderson Torres, and the former commander of the Military Police of the DF, Colonel Fábio Augusto Vieira, who commanded the Military Police on the day of the coup invasions in Brasília. It is important to note that other acts of vandalism continue to be reported across the country. The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (Aneel) is investigating three attacks on the electricity transmission network on Monday night, January 9⁠—one in Paraná and two in Rondônia.
