President Lula's statement, last Friday, October 27, that the government is “unlikely” to meet the fiscal target of zero deficit in 2024 should continue to resonate throughout this week. Minister Fernando Haddad did not comment. The bill that deals with the taxation of exclusive and offshore funds, approved last week by the House, begins its analysis process in the Senate this week. Before being voted on in the plenary, it will be analyzed by the Economic Affairs Committee (CAE). The holiday on Thursday, November 2, should affect the pace of activity in Congress.
