Former President Lula's performance in this interview is expected to be a deciding factor regarding whether he will participate in the first electoral debate of the campaign, scheduled for Sunday, August 28, on TV Bandeirantes, and, consequently, Jair Bolsonaro's participation in the debate. The Brasmarket poll shows that President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) is ahead of Lula. According to this poll, Bolsonaro has 41% of intended votes and Lula has 32.9%. Yesterday, the government finally issued a decree on the Tax on Industrialized Products (IPI) to resolve the issue regarding the Manaus Free Trade Zone, reinstating the tax on 109 products. According to the Ministry of Economy, the number of taxed items rose to 170.
