President Lula is expected to call Senate President Davi Alcolumbre (União-AP) and leaders from União Brasil to discuss a replacement for Juscelino Filho (União) at the Ministry of Communications. A quick appointment aims to ease the tensions within the party caused by Juscelino Filho’s departure. Flávio César, president of Comsefaz, and Luís Fernando Pereira da Silva, the committee’s first vice president, took part in a meeting at the Federal Senate yesterday, April 9, to align understanding on points that still require attention regarding PLP 108/2024, the complementary bill that creates and sets the rules for the IBS Management Committee. Today, all major Brazilian newspaper headlines are focused on the trade war led by the United States.
