Major Russian aerial attacks on Ukraine

In the early hours of December 29 Kyiv, Lviv, Odessa, Dnipro, Kharkiv and other cities were hit by drones and missiles. Ukraine claimed the attacks targeted infrastructure and not military positions. They say a maternity hospital was hit. Cruise, hypersonic and ballistic missiles were fired. At least 6 Ukrainians were killed and dozens were injured. It is likely that some of the wounded will die. Ukrainian air defense shot down at least some of the missiles and drones. But Patriot air defense missiles are very expensive, and Ukraine has a limited supply. Resupply from the US is doubtful. Therefore, Ukraine has to husband its Patriot missiles. This means allowing some Russian missiles through.
