In our update on President-elect Marcos's cabinet choices yesterday, we wondered who will replace soon to be Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno as BSP Governor. The answer is, Dr. Felipe Medalla, a member of the Monetary Board, who will serve until June next year. Like Messrs Diokno and Balisacan, Dr Medalla is an economist who started out teaching at the state university and became Dean of the School of Economics in 1994. He was socio-economic planning secretary in the late 1990s under the presidency of Joseph Estrada. Dr Medalla has been a member of the Monetary Board since June 2011.
