Minister of agriculture Taras Kutovyi resigns – good sign for land reform

Minister of agriculture Taras Kutovyi wrote on his Facebook page that he decided to resign. The decision is related to his position on land reform. Taras Kutovyi, a person from local agro-business, was clearly against free land circulation. He openly was standing for so called ‘lease rights’ circulation (instead of full-fledged market) and publicly was claiming that it’s not good time to launch land market. His presence in the Ministry of agriculture raised concerns about chances of land reform. His resignation means that Prime-minister Volodymyr Groysman is really determined to complete this reform and we should expect more active developments on land reform in the nearest future.
