Minister of finance and Minister of healthcare resign

Minister of finance, Igor Umanskiy and Minister of healthcare, Ilya Yemets have resigned, according to Facebook page of Iryna Gerashchenko, an MP from European Solidarity. Several media confirmed that candidates for the vacant posts have been interviewed today by MPs from Servant of the People. Mr. Yemets has been widely criticized for poor response to COVID-19 challenges. Moreover, several corruption blames on his address have popped-up over the recent weeks. His resignation was expected amid harsh criticism. In contrast, resignation of Igor Umanskiy is a surprise. Allegedly there was a conflict between Umanskiy and Premier Shmygal regarding budget revision. Spending plan that Umanskiy suggested last week was rejected by the parliament. But why Umanskiy reacted with resignation – we will learn later. Sergiy Marchenko is the person who will be nominated for the post of the Minister of finance. Marchenko is a professional. He served as a Deputy Minister of Finance under Alex Danulyuk and later he was Deputy Chief of Staff at President Office under Petro Poroshenko. Despite Marchenko is a good person to run MinFin it’s really alarming that key ministers during COVID-19 will been changed in a month after new Cabinet was appointed.
