Moldova intends to leave a post Soviet association

On May 15 Moldova said it will quit the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Moldova said it was leaving because the CIS had not helped them get Russian troops to leave Transnistria, which is a region of Moldova. Russia says its troops in Transnistria are peacekeepers. Moldova says they are occupiers. Romanian and Russian are official languages of Moldova. The Ukraine War seems to have made Moldova keener to leave the CIS.
