Moldova run-off election

On November 1 a presidential election was held. No candidate won over 50% of the vote. The top two candidates now go to a second round. The lower placed candidates are eliminated. The second round will be on November 15.President Dodon is pro-Russian. The challenger Maia Sandy is pro-EU. Sandu won 36% so far and Dodon 32%. Dodon beat Sandu four years ago. Sandu said Dodon cheated. Sandu was a World Bank economist and an anti-corruption campaigner.
