Moldova's former pro Russian president arrested

Igor Dodon is in detention pursuant to a treason and anti-corruption investigation. Moldova said the arrest is unrelated to the Ukraine War. The current Moldovan Government has vowed to battle peculation and oligarchs. The government is seeking the extradition of several Moldovan millionaires abroad are alleged to have plundered the country. Moscow expressed its concern about Dodon and said it seems it is a vendetta. Dodon's home has been searched and some items confiscated. He will be in pre-trial detention for 30 days. Dodon protests his innocence. Dodon's Party of Socialists has been demonstrating for his release. Moldova is between Romania and Ukraine. Its official languages are Romanian and Russian. Some Moldovans are pro-EU and other are pro-Russian. It is not a NATO member.
