Moldova signs defense agreement with the EU

On May 24 Moldova became the first country to sign a security and defense partnership with the EU. The EU External Affairs Commissioner was in Moldova for the signing. Moldova is a candidate member of the EU. Moldova is eager to join the European Union. It is between Ukraine and Romania. Moldovans can obtain Romanian, and therefore, EU citizenship. There is a referendum on applying to join the EU later in 2024 in Moldova.
