More of the same

We’ve titled last week’s Sunday Weekly “Seething Politics, Shaky Currency”. Today’s title refers to that, because we have more of the same indeed: The political scene remains very tense, while Ankara seems to be having a hard time containing TL’s weakness, which, incidentally, prompted our Cosmic Strategist to share His thoughts on the topic as well.

CHP leader Kilicdaroglu attracted a 500K audience to his party’s Saturday rally to protest the conviction of its Istanbul party boss Mrs. Kaftancioglu. Kilicdaroglu thus told the Erdogan government he is not afraid to use the street against its unlawful actions and his constituency is certainly not cowed by growing intimidation attempts. It remains to be seen whether the bold roar of defiance will translate into higher CHP votes.
