Netherlands signs security guarantee with Ukraine

On March 1 the Dutch Prime Minister signed the agreement in Kharkiv, Ukraine. It is surprising that Mark Rutte traveled to the city, which is so close to the front line. The Netherlands pledged EUR 2 billion in military aid and more assistance until 2034. The Dutch reaffirmed that they want Ukraine to join the EU and NATO. The Netherlands is the 7th country to sign a security agreement with Ukraine. The Netherlands is part of Czech plan to purchase munitions (particularly shells) around the world for Ukraine. There are 800,000 shells that are 15 mm as in NATO standard caliber.   Germany said on March 1 that it will under no circumstances send troops to Ukraine. This comes days after the French President said it is possible that France might send troops to Ukraine. Some countries have asked Germany to donate Taurus missiles, which have a 500 km range. Berlin refused.
