Senate President Rodrigo Pacheco and the governors who are requesting the restructuring of their debts with the federal government will discuss the general lines of a complementary bill to regularize state debt. The fiscal target for this year is 0% of GDP. For 2025, the government had defined a 0.5% surplus but is already thinking about changing it to 0.25% or 0%. The pressure for a lower target comes from the political wing of the government and the PT, while the Ministry of Finance defends a higher percentage. The Lower House continues to analyze bills that are important both from an economic and fiscal point of view. Three matters await an outcome: payroll tax relief for 17 sectors of the economy, payroll tax relief for small municipalities, and the program aimed at the events sector (Perse).
