Having defeated the second PGR accusation, President Michel Temer will have to negotiate with his coalition to approve fiscal austerity measures. By securing enough support to reject two accusations in the Lower House, Temer has evinced his ability to negotiate. However, it is clear that dialogue with the coalition must be rebuilt. In the Wednesday, October 25 vote, the wear on the relationship between the Planalto and allies was made clear. If we look at the governing coalition (PMDB, PSDB, DEM, PP, PSD, PR, PTB and PSC), 74 votes against Temer came from these parties.
