Tonight the majority of Congress’ members have decided to support a motion to impeach president Boluarte. Our estimate is that there are more than 100 votes supporting the bill, well in excess the 98 needed assuming that all 130 congress members attend the plenary. This may take place tomorrow.Although the constitution allows the president with her lawyer to defend themselves in a Congress’ plenary, with such a majority, the president may well decide to resign tonight or tomorrow morning.Being in her last year of the five year term, the Constitution mandates that Congress president becomes the president and oversee the election process. However, the current Congress president has turned down the position and Congress will have to elect a new Congress president which will become the next president until July 28th. The election dates and the election process remains unchanged.I will follow up with more information tomorrow morning.
