Petrobras Board reviews the appointment of Caio Paes de Andrades as president, the House negotiates on the bill to establish an ICMS tax limit on key items, and the MDB and Cidadania confirmed support for Simone Tebet’s candidacy
At Petrobras, an Extraordinary General Meeting (AGE) may be called to elect a new Board. Yesterday, the Chief of Staff, Ciro Nogueira, said that the new president of Petrobras needs to be able to change the company's board. In other words, more changes are expected. Deputies are discussing including a floor in the ICMS bill to limit the loss in state revenue as a result of the change. If there is a decrease of more than 5% in the overall ICMS tax collection involving energy, telecommunications, transportation and fuel, the federal government would pay the difference. The leaderships of the MDB and Cidadania met separately to discuss supporting Senator Tebet. The PSDB was also going to meet yesterday, but postponed this to June 2. Some in the party defend the idea of having their own candidacy despite the withdrawal of former Governor João Doria.
