The entry of the two parties could increase the government's support in Congress to 364 deputies and 59 senators—at least on paper. The Tax Reform text was submitted to the Federal Senate last Thursday, August 3. On Wednesday, August 9, the Constitution and Justice Committee (CCJ) should announce Senator Eduardo Braga (MDB-AM) as rapporteur for the matter. On Thursday, August 10, the president of the Central Bank (BC), Roberto Campos Neto, will participate in a public hearing in the plenary of the Senate. The objective is to discuss interest rates.
