President Lula’s (PT) interview on Jornal Nacional was marked by a more cordial tone from journalists César Tralli and Renata Vasconcellos compared with their interviews of the other candidates (Romeu Zema, Ronaldo Caiado, and Renan Santos). Nevertheless, Lula struggled during the interview. Free electoral advertising on radio and television begins today and will run through October 1. The scheduled campaign broadcasts will air Monday through Saturday. Next week will be a busy one in Congress. It will be the final week of concentrated legislative activity before the first round of the elections, and the agenda is packed. It includes the proposal to end the 6-on, 1-off work schedule (PEC 221/19), the exemption for international purchases of up to US$50 (MP 1,357/26), and others.
