President Lula will participate in the Budget Execution Board meeting, Congress informally recesses today, and Congress will hold a few concentrated voting efforts before the October municipal elections
This afternoon, President Lula will participate in the Budget Execution Board meeting to discuss this year's budget cuts and contingencies. Attending the meeting will be the Chief of Staff, Rui Costa, the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, the Minister of Planning and Budget, Simone Tebet, and the Minister of Management and Innovation in Public Services, Esther Dweck. The National Congress did not approve the Budget Guidelines Law (PLDO) bill, which is a prerequisite for legislators to formally recess per the Constitution. Even so, an informal recess starts today. Congress will only hold a few sessions in the second half of the year due to the October municipal elections. A total of 101 federal deputies and two senators will run in this year's elections.
