Referendums in east Ukraine said to show pro-Russia result

On September 28 officials in four Russian occupied districts of Ukraine announced the results of their referendums. They showed an average of 96% in favor of fusion with Russia. The districts are Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Luhansk and Kherson. However, Russia controls only half of Donetsk. The capital of Zaporizhzhia is not in Russian hands. Even then many residents fled early in the war.  The EU, the US and UK all said in advance that these results are a sham and illegal. They have said that they shall never accept these results as genuine. Western sources say that intimidation was used to obtain the result. The United Nations has not accepted the result. Putin is due to address Parliament on September 30. It is speculated that he may announce that these districts will be integrated into the Russian Federation.
