We think the rumor about Minister Paulo Guedes’s resigning is unlikely to be true. A possible explanation for the rumor is the pressure for the extension of emergency aid payments. Regarding the possible truckers’ strike, we think it will be small — if it occurs at all. O Globo will hold a debate at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 19, between the former mayor of Manaus, Arthur Virgílio, the governor of São Paulo, João Doria, and the governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leite.
