Two Russian manufactured coronavirus drugs have been licensed for sale in drug stores on September 17. Both of them are version of favirpirvir which was originally an anti-flu medicine invented in Japan. The drugs are in pill form. Trials prove that recovery times are speedy. India and China have also approved it.One of the newly licensed drugs is Areplivir. It will be available on September 21. Promomed made it. Koronavir is another drug due to come on the market. It is made by R Farm. Over 50% of volunteers in the trial of this drug had their condition ameliorate after 7 days. Avifavir (a version of favirpiravir) is principally to be exported to Belarus and Kazakhstan. Japanese PM Abe said he wanted favirpiravir to be licensed in his country. Abe has now retired. Fujifilm which made it originally has not had satisfactory results with a trial yet. Letting patients with mild symptoms be treated as outpatients will reduce pressure on hospitals. The government is also banking on Sputnik V being a resounding success. An opinion poll showed 45% of people will refuse to take the vaccine.
