Russia speeding up large scale vaccinations

On January 12 Russia started public vaccinations at an astronaut training center. Cosmonauts were the top priority of Sputnik V since the space program is a huge source of national pride. A space mission is due to be launched in April 2021.On January 13 massive public vaccinations were rolled out. The president demanded that the pace be speeded up. So far officially only 1.5 million out of 145 million people in Russia have been vaccinated, and many doubt the official figure. More people in the UK have been vaccinated than in Russia despite the UK's having less than half the population.Sputnik V requires 2 doses with a gap of 2 weeks between them. Moscow claims that it is 90% effective. Algeria and Palestine bought doses of it on January 13. Moscow brags that 1 billion doses of Sputnik V have been ordered.
