Russia tests coronavirus vaccine on 5 000 volunteers

On September 28 Moscow announced that it was testing Sputnik V on 5 000 people including those who have an elevated risk of infection. This is the last stage of the trials.The Gamaleya Research Center said that the trials will eventually involve 40 000 volunteers. It is admitted that there are side effects such as fever and pain around the injection point. This is the norm for vaccines. Sputnik V is an adenovirus based vector vaccine. Trials will end in May 2021 all being well. The sovereign wealth fund is financing Sputnik V. On September 25 Sputnik V was delivered to Belarus. Coronavirus is spreading rapidly in Russia as the weather cools. Moscow schoolchildren will be given an unprecedented break October 5-18 to stem the tide of coronavirus.
