Russia to raise defense spending 70%

On September 28 Moscow announced this and said it was due to the West's hybrid war. It has been going for 20 months. The Russian Ministry of Finance said that defense spending will rise to USD 112 billion in 2023. This is more than the budgets of several other ministries combined. This rise in defense spending is hard to manage because of the fall of the RUB and rising prices. Russia said Western intelligence has aided Ukrainians who are targeting Russian forces since the start of the war. A denial-of-service cyberattack hit Aeroflot on September 28. The situation was resolved within an hour. But it is a sign of how Ukraine is using non-military means to disrupt life in Russia. On September 28 the NATO Secretary-General and the French Defense Minister visited Ukraine. Some in NATO are unhappy with France. It is not even in the top 10 donors to Ukraine. It gives 20% of what the UK gives, despite having the same population and GDP. The NATO Secretary-General said that Ukraine faces a tough fight to take back land. He said NATO will support Ukraine for as long as necessary and added that Ukraine will join the alliance one day.
