Russia wants a new world order and threatens to end the Grain Deal

On April 7 the Russian Foreign Minister said peace negotiations on Ukraine must encompass a new world order. Sergei Lavrov was speaking in Turkey to the Turkish Foreign Minister. Russia said it will end the Black Sea Grain Initiative (BSGI) if barriers on Russian grain and fertilizers are not loosened.  Russia previously threatened to end BSGI. However, this time it might be serious. As the war is not going well for Russia it might feel that it must try something different. Ending BSGI would negatively impact several countries that are neutral on the war such as Egypt, Turkey and Bangladesh. Russia would then blame the food crisis on Ukraine and the West.  Lavrov railed against the unipolar world under American hegemony. He said that Russia is obliged to continue the Ukraine War. The fact that Russia is contemplating talks is a sign that Russia is unhappy with the progress of the war.
