Russian missile hits merchant ship in Ukraine

On November 10 Ukraine claimed that a Russian missile struck the Liberian flagged-cargo ship in Odesa and 1 sailor was killed. Russia has neither confirmed nor denied this. The ship was hit with an anti-radar missile, so the strike might be accidental. Kyiv claimed the ship was due to take iron ore to China. The Black Sea Grain Initiative ended in July 2023. However, until now Russia has refrained from attacking civilians vessels. Moscow said that all cargo ships approaching Ukraine may be targeted because they could be carrying arms. Moreover, strangling the Ukrainian economy is part of Russia's stratagem. Ukraine has declared a humanitarian corridor for the export of grain which mostly goes to Less Economically Developed Countries (LEDCs). Russia does not recognize this. The corridor appeared to be working until now.
