Russian tanker hit by Ukrainian drones according to Russian media

On August 5 the tanker was allegedly hit in the Kerch Strait. This caused traffic to be stopped on the Kerch Bridge for about 3 hours. The bridge links Crimea to mainland Russia. The chemical tanker SIG did not spill anything due to the drone attack. The tanker is under US sanctions for delivering jet fuel to Syria. The ship did not sink and was soon escorted away from the scene by tug boats. A Russian official in Zaporizhzhia said some of the ship's 11 crew were injured slightly. This is the first time Ukraine has attacked a Russian merchant ship. The Ukrainian have not made a statement about the incident. This attack comes only a day after a similar attack on the Russian naval base at Novorossiysk.
