The Senate’s Environment (CMA) and Agriculture (CRA) Committees approved the General Environmental Licensing Bill (Bill No. 2159/2021) yesterday. The text may be voted on today by the Senate floor. Yesterday, the Senate’s Constitution, Justice, and Citizenship Committee (CCJ) held a public hearing to discuss Supplementary Bill No. 108/24 (the Goods and Services Tax ((IBS)) Management Committee) with Bernard Appy, the Special Secretary for Tax Reform at the Ministry of Finance, among others. This hearing was originally scheduled for two weeks ago but was postponed. The Lower House installed yesterday a special committee to analyze the bill regulating the use of Artificial Intelligence in Brazil (Bill No. 2338/23). The committee will be chaired by Deputy Luísa Canziani (PSD-PR), with Deputy Adriana Aventura (Novo-SP) as vice chair.
