Senate leaders and government representatives continue discussions on compensatory measures for payroll tax relief for companies and municipalities. The cost of the tax exemption is estimated to be around R$ 26 billion. The president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), will meet with governors today to discuss a proposal on renegotiating state debts with the Federal Government. He will then have a meeting with President Lula (PT) to discuss the matter. So far, the Working Group (GT) in the House that discusses the regulation of Tax Reform (PLP No. 68/24) has held 15 public hearings. Seven hearings remain: five this week and two next week (on June 24 and 25).
