The President of Congress, Senator Davi Alcolumbre (União-AP), has read the request to establish a Joint Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry (CPMI) into the INSS and authorized the formation of the panel. Yesterday, during a joint congressional session, lawmakers also voted on presidential vetoes. One of the vetoes overturned would have allowed new consumption taxes to be applied to investment funds. Today, the Central Bank will announce its decision on the benchmark interest rate, currently at 14.25%. The likely outcome is no change.
