Senator Bezerra postponed the submission of his report on the PEC on Fuels to today, the governor of São Paulo will reduce the ICMS on fuel to 18%, and today Senator Rodrigues may submit his request to install the MEC CPI
The PEC on Fuels will include an increase in the Auxílio Brasil program payment from R$400 to R$600, as well as a truck drivers’ voucher, an increase in the gas voucher, different treatment for ethanol in relation to other fuels and a subsidy for public transportation. The government is hoping to complete the vote in the Senate this week and send the text to the House. The Governor of São Paulo, Rodrigo Garcia, announced the reduction of ICMS rates to 18% on fuel, communications and electricity. Electorally, the measure may benefit him, as he is running for re-election and is behind Fernando Haddad (PT) and Tarcísio de Freitas in the polls. Also scheduled for today is the presentation of Senator Randolfe Rodrigues's request for the creation of a Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry (CPI) on the Ministry of Education (MEC). Senate President Rodrigo Pacheco is against the installation of the CPI.
