As usually happens in times of crisis, in 2017 the political and economic scenarios will continue to be symbiotically intertwined. That interdependence is evident, for example, in the behavior of asset prices, which continue to be commanded by events that affect the joint probability of two hypotheses: Temer will serve out the current presidential term (until 2018), and the economic reforms will be approved. The recent performance of stock prices, the exchange rate and interest rate indicate that this is the view of the financial market, one we share. But the year is still young and consideration must go to important risks that can alter the course of events.
