Last week, President Bolsonaro said he was forced to veto R$ 2.8 billion in the budget, but a total of approximately R$ 3.1 billion should be vetoed, specifically to cover mandatory expenses. This is the last week of recess for Congress, which resumes activity on February 2. The pandemic will continue to put pressure on the government. The opposition is considering creating a new CPI on the pandemic. On Wednesday, the PT, PSB, PCdoB and PV meet to begin defining the terms of the statute of the party federation they intend to form. The parties have until March 1 to request formal registration of the party federation, but the group wants to extend this deadline to April 2.
