The Annual Budget Law (LOA), which was sanctioned by President Lula (PT) yesterday, was published in today's Federal Official Gazette. He vetoed part of the budget foreseen for committee amendments. The National Congress will likely try to overturn Lula's veto and reestablish the amendments. According to the Union of Federal Revenue Service Auditors (Sindifisco), the agency's strike is expected to affect 90% of cargo clearances in the country next week—and support for the strike has grown. Haddad also said that he is discussing with President Lula ways to make the goal of zeroing the deficit in 2024 viable and cited expenditure-cutting measures.
