The Cabinet removal is on the agenda

A lot of talk about the potential removal of Shmygal Cabinet. Top speakers from Servant of the People are expressing dissatisfaction about the Minster of Economy, Igor Petrashko, and Minister of Finance, Sergiy Marchenko. Yesterday there was a hearing at the Parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy with the Minister of Finance reporting on his performance. Many observers named the event the “swan song” of Marchenko. Remarkably, Servant of the People cannot articulate clearly what is the problem with Petrashko and Marchenko. Apparently, one can hardly expect supreme performance of the economic block amid a global crisis. Against this backdrop some journalists have started speculating that the real target of a potential Cabinet dismissal is Minister of Interior Arsen Avakov. Allegedly, Zelenskiy wants to get rid of the mighty minister, who plays his own game, but blaming the Minster of Economy and Minister of Finance is a more comfortable excuse for a complete reboot of the Cabinet. The timing of this move is not clear. But possibly Zelenskiy will launch the Cabinet reboot before local elections, hoping for extra points.
