As expected, the Economic Affairs Committee (CAE) approved a bill yesterday that extends the payroll tax exemption for 17 sectors of the economy for four years. The benefit ends in December. This was a defeat for the government. State Finance Secretaries scheduled a virtual meeting for Thursday to deal with Tax Reform. There was a meeting yesterday, but there was disagreement among states regarding the criteria for defining transfers to promote regional development. Regarding the fiscal framework, the rapporteur, Senator Omar Aziz (PSD-AM), said that the text will be voted upon on June 21 in the Economic Affairs Committee and the Senate plenary.
