As expected, the Central Bank announced an increase in the basic interest rate (Selic) to 10.75% per year. The decision was unanimous. Naturally, there was a political reaction. Yesterday, September 18, the Senate approved a federal government bill that creates the "Acredita no Primeiro Passo" Program. The goal is to facilitate access to credit and assist in debt renegotiation for individuals and small businesses. Yesterday, Health Minister Nísia Andrade announced a dengue fever action plan involving R$ 1.5 billion. Between the end of last year and the beginning of this year, the minister faced harsh criticism due to the high number of cases.
