The government is hoping to reach the ideal number of at least 475 deputies in the plenary to reach a quorum and be able to approve the PEC. There are two options if the proposal is not approved: a provisional measure to issue extraordinary credit or a bill in Congress for supplemental credit. The House may also vote on the bill that regulates the Brazilian market for carbon credits today. Last week, Senate President Rodrigo Pacheco also joined the PSD and is the party's main option to run for the Planalto Palace.
