The Covid Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry (CPI) will be installed in the Senate today. Following an initial two-week organizational period, the CPI’s investigation should begin to intensify. Yesterday, the President of the House, Arthur Lira, and the Minister of the Economy, Paulo Guedes, met to discuss Tax Reform. The meeting represents a step forward in the reform agenda but there are still questions about how it will advance in Congress. In relation to the programs geared toward stimulating and supporting the private sector, Pronampe and BEm, the Ministry of the Economy submitted the proposal to the Office of the Chief of Staff and it should be published this week as a presidential provisional measure.
