The economic team announced yesterday a freeze of R$ 31.4 billion in the 2025 budget. An amount of R$ 10.6 billion was blocked, and R$ 20.6 billion was subject to contingency. The figure was much higher than the market had anticipated. Yesterday, Senate President and head of Congress, Davi Alcolumbre (União-AP), announced that he will convene a session on June 17 for the review of presidential vetoes. There had been speculation that it would be held the following week, on the 27th or 28th. Next week, the Lower House is expected to receive the environmental licensing bill, which was approved by the Senate this week.
