Yesterday, the government published a provisional measure (MP) that regulates sports betting. Companies will have a tax of 18% on revenues, and there will be a 30% income tax charge on premiums that are above the exemption range (R$ 2,112 in 2023). The government also sent a bill to Congress on this topic. The text provides that small-value activities of less than R$ 10,000 do not need authorization to carry out commercial advertising. Regarding positions in the government, the main deputies being considered are Deputy André Fufuca, who is the leader of the PP in the House, and Deputy Silvio Costa Filho, from the Republicanos.
