This past week the government denied entrance to a group of representatives from the German environmental parliament. The impasse ended up with Ecuador terminating the environmental cooperation with Germany that granted the country seven million euros to help protect the Yasuni park. To add insult to injury, Chancellor Patiño declared the government will return the seven million and add another seven million to finance training of this German group in matters of sovereignty.
