Colombians voted a troublesome 50.21%-49.78% favoring NO in the October 2 plebiscite on the peace agreement with the FARC. Regionally, the results reveal a worrisome pattern; the geographical core of the country, composed by relatively more affluent provinces, and where the largest cities sit, voted negatively. In Antioquia, for instance, the NO vote won 62%-38%. Similar results came out in Tolima (60%-40%), Caldas and Cundinamarca (both 57%-43%) just to mention a few. Stronger results came out from regions traditionally torn by the conflict and FARC presence: Caquetá (71%-29% for NO), Casanare (71%-28%), Meta and Norte de Santander (both 64%-36%).
