Today, the Lower House will attempt to vote on the bill granting an income tax exemption for individuals earning up to R$ 5,000 per month. The opposition is trying to eliminate all compensation measures from the text. President Lula met yesterday with Minister of Institutional Relations Gleisi Hoffmann and with the Presidents of the Lower House, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), and of the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre (União Brasil-AP), to discuss the legislative agenda through the end of the year, including the income tax bill. Yesterday, the Senate finally concluded the vote on the complementary bill establishing the Management Committee of the Goods and Services Tax (IBS). The bill now returns to the Lower House.
