The Minister of the Institutional Security Cabinet, Gonçalves Dias, resigned after images surfaced of him at the Planalto Palace on the day of the January 8 attacks. In the images, he appears to be interacting cordially with the vandals. This week, Senate President Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG) postponed a session of Congress to analyze presidential vetoes to prevent a request for a Joint Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry (CPI) on the January 8 attacks from being read in the session. President Lula travels to Portugal today at 10 pm. He is also going to Spain and will return next week.
