In an interview last week, Executive Secretary of the Finance Ministry Dario Durigan said the economic team is expected to present a proposal this week to the presidents of the Lower House and the Senate, as well as to party leaders, calling for a 10% across-the-board cut in tax benefits. Also scheduled for this week is a meeting of the National Energy Policy Council (CNPE) to discuss increasing the ethanol blend in gasoline from 27% to 30%. The announcement was made last week by the Minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira. In the Supreme Federal Court (STF), this week’s agenda is packed, including discussions on the INSS case, the Civil Rights Framework for the Internet case, and the mandatory fund transfers case.
