Just as expected, the MNB said or did absolutely nothing new at today's rate-setting meeting, even though the forint is slightly weaker and more volatile than it was before the late-June Monetary Council meeting. So it looks like the MNB is in fact satisfied with the current market situation. The forint moved very little in the positive direction after the announcement, which appears to be a sign of momentary strength, especially in the light of today's currency market events in Turkey.
